The SuperStar number
The SuperStar number is an attractive addition to SuperEnalotto drawings, and it has been positively received since its debut in March 2006. The SuperStar number cannot be played separately from SuperEnalotto, but it costs just 50 cents per entry and offers many extra-chances to win prizes.
The SuperStar game has gone through various changes since it was launched but the main goal has always been to try to match a single number between 1 and 90 to win a prize or increase the value of a win in the main SuperEnalotto draw.
How to play with SuperStar
Each SuperEnalotto player has the option to tick the corresponding box to play the SuperStar. You simply have to pick a single number between 1 and 90, which can be the same number as one of those chosen for the main SuperEnalotto combination, since they are drawn by a different machine. Players can decide to choose their own SuperStar number or get one randomly chosen by the computer. A SuperStar number is drawn in each SuperEnalotto draw and all players who match the SuperStar number win a prize.
The SuperStar Prizes
The SuperStar offers players the chance to win cash prizes regardless of how many SuperEnalotto numbers they match in the main draw. There are prizes that players can win by matching the SuperStar number with none, one or two of the main SuperEnalotto numbers; but players who match three, four or five numbers in the main draw will win significantly higher payouts if they also match the SuperStar number.
Anyone who wins the SuperEnalotto jackpot and also matches the SuperStar number will receive a €2 million bonus, unless there is more than one jackpot winner, in which case this bonus is split equally. There is a €1 million bonus for SuperEnalotto second category prize winners who also match the SuperStar number. All the prizes and the winning odds with the SuperStar number can be found in the following table.

|6 + SuperStar||2,000,000 € SuperBonus||1 in 56,035,316,700|

Recalculating the jackpot in exceptional circumstances
The SuperEnalotto rules also take into account the (out of the ordinary) scenario in which there should be not enough funds to pay all SuperStar prize winners. This scenario is rather unlikely, but it could eventually happen if there were an unusually large number of players matching the right SuperStar number. In that case prizes will have to be recalculated, and the following table shows the prizes breakdown for this eventuality.
|6 + SuperStar||Jackpot + 2 millions euro|
|5 + Jolly + SuperStar||5-numbers prize + SuperStar + 1 million euro|
|5 + SuperStar||5-numbers prize + 2,9% of SuperSta prize pool|
|4 + SuperStar||4-numbers prize + 11,6% of SuperStar prize pool|
|3 + SuperStar||3-numbers prize + 35,4% of SuperStar prize pool|
|2 + SuperStar||2-numbers prize + 21,4% of SuperStar prize pool|
|1 + SuperStar||13,7% of SuperStar prize pool|
|0 + SuperStar||15% of SuperStar prize pool|
