What is SuperEnalotto?

The game of SuperEnalotto is a very popular Italian lottery, launched in 1997, in which players have to pick six numbers between 1 and 90 in order to participate. The six winning numbers are randomly drawn and players who match at least two numbers win prizes. The prize pool for each prize category is split equally, according to the number of winners of each category.

Where and when do SuperEnalotto draws take place?

SuperEnalotto draws take place in Rome three times a week. Normally this happens on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, at 8:00pm Italian time, although sometimes the draws can be brought anticipated or postponed due to overlap with a public holiday.

How do I win SuperEnalotto?

Six main numbers between 1 and 90 are drawn in each SuperEnalotto draw, followed by a Jolly number which is drawn from the remaining 84 balls. The game has six prize categories:

  • The first category includes all players who have matched all of the six main numbers.
  • The second category includes all players who have matched five main numbers and the Jolly number.
  • The third category includes all players who have matched five of the main numbers.
  • The fourth category includes all players who have matched four of the main numbers.
  • The fifth category includes all players who have matched three of the main numbers.
  • The sixth category includes all players who have guessed two of the main numbers.

Which is the prize breakdown for each category?

Which is the prize breakdown for each category?

  • The first category, in which six numbers have to be matched, receives 17.4% of the prize pool.
  • The second category, in which five numbers must be matched + the Jolly number, receives 13% of the prize pool.
  • The third category, in which five numbers have to be matched, receives 4.2% of the prize pool.
  • The fourth category, in which four numbers have to be matched, receives 4.2% of the prize pool.
  • The fifth category, in which three numbers have to be matched, receives 12.8% of the prize pool.
  • The sixth category, in which two of the main numbers have to be matched, receives 40% of the prize pool.

Prize money for the first category rolls over to the next draw if no players match all six main numbers, allowing the jackpot to grow bigger and bigger until someone wins it.

How do instant prizes work?

Approximately 8.4% of the SuperEnalotto jackpot is reserved for instant prizes. After purchasing a ticket, a €25 prize can be won immediately if some of the numbers which the player chose on the ticket match those printed on a 'magic square' found on the game receipt. This allows players to win cash prizes immediately, before the drawing takes place.

What is the SuperStar additional game?

SuperStar is an additional game related to SuperEnalotto which can only be played together with the main draw. To play SuperStar players must tick the appropriate box and pick in it a single number between 1 and 90. A SuperStar number is drawn from a separate machine after each SuperEnalotto main draw, meaning that the SuperStar number can be the same of one of the SuperEnalotto numbers.

How much does it cost to play a SuperStar number?

The SuperStar costs €0.50 per entry. This is an extra cost to the main ticket, as this game cannot be played separately from SuperEnalotto, therefore the minimum cost to participate in SuperStar together with SuperEnalotto is €1.50. However, players can decide to add the SuperStar number to only one of the SuperEnalotto combinations they play, so they do not necessarily have to entry this option for every single column they play.

How do Super Bonuses work?
